The month of October ended on a busy note for ELP! In addition to our usual meetings and book distribution, we were involved in a fundraiser held by Main Street Bottle Shop in which books and cash donations were collected. The guys at MSB generously donated a percentage of their profits on Saturday, October 28th to our organization. Board members Laura Moore and Courtney Guenther stopped by to show their support! Thanks to honorary board member Susan Dakes and everyone else that came by to have a beer for a good cause!

We participated in the R.E.A.C.H. Fall Festival at Clinton College on October 31st, giving out candy and raffling off four sets of children’s books. Board members Adam Ackerman and Syvlia Echols joined in on the fun. We enjoyed seeing so many creative and cute costumes!

By participating in local events and partnering with York County businesses, ELP hopes to increase our visibility and spread our message about the importance of school readiness, early childhood literacy, and bonding through reading.
